Vijay Kumar Thaper may not have witnessed the inception of VSR, but his legacy is a cornerstone of its philosophy. The principles and expertise he championed continue to shape the firm's practices today.

Migrating to Warwickshire in the UK during the 1970s, Vijay quickly made his mark as a proficient professional with a passion for finance. He embarked on the path to becoming a Chartered Accountant, achieving his qualification with Coopers & Lybrand (now part of PwC) in Warwickshire, with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.

In 1977, Vijay, alongside his brother, launched their accountancy firm. Starting from their home and later expanding to offices in Warwickshire and Birmingham, they established a practice that became integral to the South Asian business community and enjoyed success for over three decades.

Vijay's passing in 2010 marked the end of an era for the original firm, which was subsequently sold and continues to operate without the Thaper family's involvement. Yet, the foundation he laid continues to inspire VSR Thaper & Partners in its commitment to excellence and service.

Sunil Thaper is the founder and Managing Partner at VSR Thaper & Partners.

After qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant with the ACCA in 2008 and later achieving Fellowship status in 2013, he furthered his credentials by becoming a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW in 2019. Recognizing the potential within the UAE’s startup ecosystem, Sunil established VSR Thaper & Partners to deliver expert financial and operational guidance to startups and SMEs in the region.

Bringing over 19 years of financial leadership experience from the UK and UAE, Sunil has developed a deep expertise in areas such as financial strategy, resource allocation, and the management of digital assets, as well as in facilitating capital raising and maintaining investor relationships.

His skills bridge the gap between traditional finance and the evolving tech sector, focusing on thorough financial analysis and the integration of digital assets. Sunil leverages modern IT tools and process automation to enhance reporting and data analysis capabilities, which supports informed decision-making.
